Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
The Department of Pediatrics, East Tennessee State University (ETSU) at Niswonger Children's Hospital is seeking an additional full-time Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist to join the Tri-Cities St. Jude Affiliate Clinic.
Niswonger Children's Hospital is a 94-bed facility with a 44-bed NICU, 10-bed PICU, and the primary pediatric teaching center in the region. ETSU is home to the Quillen College of Medicine, providing the opportunity to participate in the medical education and training of medical students, pediatric residents, and family medicine residents.
The pediatric hematology oncology clinic is an affiliate of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital that provides quality care in a local and close-knit environment with all the benefits of research and expertise of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Our growing clinic sees about 3000 patients per year with 30-40 new oncology patients. We are also the regional hemophilia and thrombosis center. Our catchment area includes East Tennessee; SW Virginia; and parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Also, our fully supported staff includes a dedicated child life specialist, social worker, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and speech therapist.
Responsibilities include pediatric hematology/oncology patient care as well as teaching and mentoring medical students and pediatric residents. There are also opportunities for clinical research both locally and within the St. Jude system.
