About the Role:
Stony Point Orthodontics and Children's Dentistry is looking for a compassionate and energetic Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing practice in Richmond, VA! Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist chairside during pediatric dental procedures and examinations
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms between patients
• Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed
• Help create a calm, positive, and welcoming experience for young patients and their parents
• Record patient medical histories and treatment notes in dental software
• Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
• Manage dental supply inventory and assist with front office coordination as needed

Requirements:

• Prior dental assisting experience preferred; pediatric experience is a plus
• Radiography (X-ray) certification required or ability to obtain promptly
• CPR/BLS certification required or willingness to obtain
• Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with children of all ages
• Strong communication skills with both patients and parents
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
