Job Summary

The Speech Pathology Department at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) for a per diem role, primarily responsible for weekend inpatient coverage with the possibility of additional weekday shifts depending on departmental needs and clinician availability. The clinician will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment services for adult inpatients presenting with a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders, including dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive-communication impairments, motor speech and voice disorders, and communication challenges associated with acute and chronic medical conditions.

Responsibilities include:

• Completing detailed clinical swallow assessments • Developing evidence-based treatment plans • Providing individualized therapeutic interventions • Collaborating with interdisciplinary colleagues to support safe and effective discharge planning • Monitoring and documenting patient progress throughout the course of care • Adjusting treatment plans as needed to reflect clinical changes • Educating patients and their families about speech, language, and swallowing disorders • Offering strategies to enhance communication and promote functional success

Education Masters Degree Speech Therapy required

Licenses and Credentials Speech-language Pathologist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Class D Passenger Vehicle Drivers License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology [CCC-A] - American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology [CCC-SLP] - American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred

Experiences Speech pathology experience 1-2 years preferred Acute hospital experience 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Familiarity of diagnostic assessments for speech language • Employee must have strong interpersonal skills • Ability to incorporate new clinical procedures sufficiently to perform clinical services independently • Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology and speech-language pathology scope of practice • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making • Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations
