Perception Software Engineer, Autonomous Driving

Role Overview

We are looking for a Perception Software Engineer to design, integrate, and deploy ML-

based perception software within our ADAS stack. This engineer will collaborate with ML

engineers, embedded software developers, and systems teams to deliver production-

ready solutions across Lucid’s vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and integrate bird’s-eye-view (BEV) transformer models for

perception tasks.

• Research and develop state-of-the-art machine-learning-based prediction

solutions for production perception systems.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests.

• Deploy and optimize ML models on embedded platforms.

• Write production-grade C++ code aligned with MISRA/AUTOSAR standards.

• Develop and maintain diagnostic pipelines for perception modules.

• Debug and resolve static analysis violations and performance bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across ML, perception, systems, and

safety.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in software integration, operating systems used in embedded

environments, including QNX and Ubuntu, and embedded software development.

• Strong theoretical foundation and practical expertise in deep-learning algorithms

for dynamic and static object detection, tracking, and segmentation.

• Experience contributing to large, complex production codebases in a collaborative

development environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a

related field.

• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience. Candidates considered for a

senior-level position should have additional relevant industry experience or a Ph.D.

in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, or a related field.

• Deep understanding of deep learning deployment pipelines and GPU inference.

• Experience developing BEV transformer models for perception.

• Hands-on experience with embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Drive Orin/Xavier.

• Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and debugging.

• Strong familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
