    AUDITOR GENERAL

    The Arizona Auditor General serves as an independent source of impartial information concerning State and local governmental entities and provides specific recommendations to improve the operations of those entities.     Posting Details:

    Salary: $20.00 per hour and the potential eligibility for college credit.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Conduct performance audits and follow ups on previously issued performance audit reports of State agencies, school districts, and programs.
    • Gather information and help identify areas of inquiry, perform audit procedures to obtain evidence, and prepare well-documented work papers to support audit findings and recommendations.
    • Draft audit findings and appropriate recommendations for improvement that meet Auditor General standard for clarity and completeness.
    • Verbally communicate the results of your work with Auditor General and State agency management.

    Qualifications:
    • Progress toward a master’s degree in a field emphasizing research, writing, and analyzing data; candidates in your junior or senior year of a bachelor’s program in a similar field will be considered.
    • No accounting degree or accounting experience needed.
    • Interest in public service and improving State government.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and research skills.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills.

      HOURS: Flexible hours, 15-40 hours per week, to meet your school schedule.
