Performance Engineer: Senior-level technical role focused on optimizing the performance, scalability, and reliability of large-scale database systems. This position combines deep Oracle Database expertise with advanced performance engineering, query optimization, troubleshooting, and capacity planning skills. The DBA Performance Engineer serves as a subject matter expert in diagnosing and resolving complex performance issues across mission-critical production environments.Key Responsibilities: Lead performance analysis, tuning, and optimization of Oracle Database environments (19c, 21c, Exadata, RAC, Data Guard)Coordinate and work with DISA resources as needed Perform deep-dive performance diagnostics using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Trace, TKPROF, and Oracle Enterprise Manager Identify and resolve SQL performance bottlenecks, inefficient execution plans, and resource contentionWork with development teams to optimize code and configurations Design and implement performance improvements for high-transaction OLTP and large-scale OLAP/Data Warehouse systems Conduct proactive performance monitoring, trending, and capacity planning Support major database upgrades, migrations, and consolidation efforts with a strong focus on performance Develop and maintain performance baselines, benchmarks, and tuning standards Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex performance incidents and production fires Collaborate with application teams, developers, and architects to optimize application-database interaction Create and present performance reports and recommendations to technical and executive leadership Ensure database performance compliance with DoD security and STIG requirementsCompany DescriptionDexian Government Solutions is an award-winning, ISO 9001:2015 certified, business and GSA contract holder providing diversified Information Technology services to both Civilian and Defense agencies.
