Position Summary


The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct support and personal care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or adults requiring assistance with daily living activities. This position plays an important role in promoting dignity, safety, independence, and person-centered care. 1st and 3rd shift


Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and community participation
• Monitor health and safety concerns and report changes appropriately
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Complete daily documentation accurately and timely
• Follow individualized care plans and agency policies
• Provide respectful, person-centered support at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous caregiving, PCA, DSP, or healthcare experience preferred
• Compassionate, reliable, and professional attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must pass background screening requirements
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Certifications

• CPR/First Aid preferred (or willing to obtain)
• Medication Aide certification a plus

Schedule

• PRN / As Needed
• Flexible scheduling available
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or short-notice shifts as needed
