Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary

As a Caregiver, you will provide non-medical support to seniors and individuals with physical or developmental disabilities in their homes. Your goal is to help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent while providing compassionate, respectful care. Caregivers follow individualized care plans and work closely with clients, families, and agency staff.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care

Assist clients with daily living activities, including:

• Bathing and personal hygiene
• Dressing and grooming
• Toileting and incontinence care
• Feeding and meal assistance
• Mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Exercise and range of motion activities
• Medication reminders
• Monitoring vital signs and blood pressure (as required)

Household Support

Provide assistance with:

• Meal planning and preparation
• Light housekeeping
• Laundry and changing linens
• Shopping and errands
• Transportation to appointments and activities

Companion Care

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Encourage social interaction and mental stimulation
• Offer respite care for family caregivers

Safety & Communication

• Maintain a safe environment for clients
• Follow the client's care plan at all times
• Report changes in a client's condition, behavior, or living environment
• Document daily activities and services provided
• Report incidents, accidents, or safety concerns immediately

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to provide care according to an established care plan
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Able to pass background check and drug screening
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation with current insurance and registration
• Authorized to work in the United States
