Job Description
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from initial evaluation through settlement, mediation, and trial.
- Draft and prepare briefs, settlement offers, discovery motions, motions for summary judgment, and trial-related motions.
- Take and defend depositions involving clients, witnesses, and experts.
- Interview clients, evaluate case details, identify legal issues, and develop effective litigation strategies.
- Prepare cases for trial through witness interviews, evidence development, investigation, and case organization.
- Represent clients in court proceedings and advocate for their interests throughout litigation.
- Prepare and file complaints, motions, discovery, and other court documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, insurance representatives, and other parties.
- Prepare clients for mediation and settlement conferences while keeping them informed throughout the litigation process.
- Research legal issues and develop persuasive arguments that advance case outcomes.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active California Bar license and membership in good standing.
- 3+ years of personal injury or general liability litigation experience.
- Strong experience with legal research, writing, motions, discovery, and depositions.
- Ability to manage a substantial and complex litigation caseload.
- Strong communication, analytical, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and client-focused approach.
- Plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred.
