The Arc Carroll County is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one personal supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Available shifts-
- Thursdays 10:00A-2:00P
- Monday-Friday 3:00P-7:00/8:00PM
- Limited Day time hours are available: Monday-Friday
- Limited Weekend hours
- Also searching for someone who loves history and wants to provide 1:1 support on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:00P-8:00P with an individual who also loves history!
What You’ll Do:
- Provide one-on-one community-based or in-home support
- Provide transportation and support community access
- Create and implement innovative, fun, and meaningful activities tailored to each individual’s interests, goals, and abilities
- Support individuals individually and independently, encouraging choice, creativity, and self-direction through social, recreational, and educational activities
- Encourage independence and decision-making
- Assist with personal care and mobility as needed
- Document services and progress in iCare
- Follow person-centered plans, policies, and state regulations
Pay & Benefits:
- $20.07/hour (Maryland Equal Pay compliant)

- DSP certification program with potential bonuses of $1,000–$1,500 in your first year and annually thereafter
Requirements:
- 18+ years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license that has never been suspended or revoked
- Ability to pass background, drug, and driving record checks
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills
- Ability to complete required training courses, including CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification, and other DDA-mandated training
- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs frequently and assist with transfers
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
- Ability to assist with wheelchair handling, transfers, and securing individuals safely in vehicles
Compensation details: 20.07-20.07 Hourly Wage
