The pediatric pharmacy services 33 pediatric intensive care beds, 76 neonatal intensive care beds, 80 pediatric acute care beds, and multiple infusion clinics.

The Pediatric Services at UNC Hospitals and Clinics are in a period of growth. Our mission for the pediatric pharmacy is to provide quality, patient-centered care, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, for all pediatric patients within the Children's Hospital by practicing evidenced-based medicine, optimizing medication use and distribution while ensuring medication safety.

The Department is highly interactive with the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy, located on the same Chapel Hill campus. UNC Hospitals and Clinics acts as a major clinical and administrative training site for these pharmacy students, in addition to its greater than 40 pharmacy residents.

Qualified candidates will have earned a BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school/college of pharmacy and must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina. Completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 residency in pediatrics or an equivalent level of pharmacy experience is also preferred.
