Overview

We are seeking a Pharmacy Engineering Technician III to support the maintenance, operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of pharmacy automation and prescription distribution systems. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing mechanical and electromechanical equipment while supporting operational efficiency, quality standards, and system performance within a pharmacy environment.
The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, experience working with automated equipment, and the ability to work independently while supporting critical operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and optimization of pharmacy automation equipment and systems
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electromechanical equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement solutions to minimize downtime
• Evaluate equipment performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
• Support prescription drug distribution systems and automated dispensing technologies
• Recommend and implement equipment and process improvements to:
  • Reduce operational costs
  • Improve throughput
  • Enhance quality and efficiency
  • Minimize equipment failures
• Conduct testing and validation of software and equipment to ensure proper functionality
• Assist in the development and evaluation of future equipment configurations and operational enhancements
• Maintain compliance with quality standards, operational procedures, and industry requirements
• Support documentation, maintenance records, and equipment performance reporting
• Prioritize maintenance requests and operational support activities independently
• Collaborate with pharmacy operations, engineering, and technology teams to resolve issues and improve performance

Required Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and electromechanical equipment
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Experience supporting operational equipment, automated systems, or industrial technology
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to interpret technical information, system documentation, and operational procedures
• Intermediate mathematical and technical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to operational needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting pharmacy automation systems or healthcare-related equipment
• Knowledge of automated dispensing, prescription fulfillment, or distribution systems
• Experience with equipment validation, software testing, and process improvement initiatives
• Background in engineering technology, industrial maintenance, automation, or electromechanical systems
• Experience working in highly regulated environments such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or distribution operations
