Are you a current pharmacy student looking to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting? Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, or director of pharmacy services, the Pharmacy Intern will assist with a wide range of technical and clerical duties supporting our hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for pharmacy students actively enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy to apply their knowledge in a clinical environment while contributing to high-quality patient care.

Location: Bethesda North Hospital at 10500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242

Work Hours

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Active Pharmacy Intern License in the State of Ohio.
  • Up to 1 year of experience in a related field (preferred but not required)

Job Overview:

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, or director of pharmacy services, performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. Responsible for maintaining confidential reports, entering, and retrieving data utilizing the computer system, preparing intravenous medication, including but not limited to, chemotherapeutic preparations, hyperalimentations and antibiotics, prefilling patient cassette drawers with a 24-hour supply of unit dose medications, procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies, and delivering supplies to nursing units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in Pharmacist duties such as order entry, drug information and clinical monitoring.
  • Assists pharmacist with medication preparation and dispensing without errors.
  • Assists pharmacist with sterile products preparation and dispensing without errors.
  • Operates all pharmacy automation accurately and efficiently.
  • Prioritizes activities to optimize workflow using appropriate problem-solving techniques.
