Position Summary Under general supervision of Staff Pharmacist and according to precise procedures, assists Pharmacists in filling prescriptions by interpreting, preparing, and distributing medications. Job Responsibilities Fills medication orders with appropriate medications Delivers unit dose medication and sterile products to appropriate location on nursing units. Insures items are stored appropriately on nursing units Fills automated dispensing cabinets accurately; adjusts quantities and expiration dates while stocking. Identifies items requiring repackaging and uses appropriate packager to package into unit dose containers. Education/Experience High School Graduate or equivalent Previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy for a min of 2 years.
