Pharmacy Technician

Pride Health is hiring Registered Pharmacy Technicians – IV Sterile Compounding
 to support our client's healthcare facility in Houston, TX 77030. 
 
Job Details: 
Schedule: 7 am-3:30 pm, 40 hours/week
Location: Houston, TX 77030
Float / Coverage Area: Rotating through 3 Pharmacies
Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 7 weeks with possible extension
Pay Range: $32 to $37/hour
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.  
 
Duties: 

• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, repackaging, compounding, filling, dispensing, and delivery for patients ranging from infants to adults.

• Assist with procurement, documentation, storage, and distribution of controlled substances.

• Enter patient diagnoses, weight, allergies, and body surface area accurately to support medication dose appropriateness.

• Follow aseptic techniques and infection control procedures when preparing sterile products.

• Complete annual aseptic technique and infection control recertification, achieving at least 90% on the skills assessment and written examination.

• Promote compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control practices among pharmacy team members.

• Ensure medications are accurately prepared and verified by pharmacists.

• Demonstrate competency in batch, medication, and prescription order entry.

• Maintain adequate medication and supply inventory in coordination with Pharmacy Support Services.

• Follow stock replacement and nonformulary procedures.

• Obtain pharmacist initial and final checks and assign dilution and expiration dating labels according to departmental standards.

Requirements: 

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

• IV sterile compounding experience/qualification.

• Knowledge of hospital and departmental pharmaceutical handling standards.

• Strong mathematical, reading, and communication skills.

• Ability to operate equipment used in sterile product preparation.
