Duties and Responsibilities
Assistpharmacists with medication preparation, filling, labeling, and packaging
Accurately enter prescription and patient information into pharmacy software systems
Prepare and package medications for delivery to long-term care facilities
Support unit-dose, blister pack, and automated dispensing processes
Maintainaccuraterecords and documentationin accordance withpharmacy regulations
Receive, stock, rotate, and organize medication inventory and supplies
Process medication returns, credits, and expired medications according to policy
Answer incoming phone calls and provide basic customer service support to facilities, nurses, and internal staff
Assistwith order prioritization to meet scheduled delivery deadlines
Maintain cleanliness and organization of pharmacy work areas
Follow HIPAA guidelines andprotect patient confidentiality at all times
Participate in training and competency development programs
Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership
This position does not have supervisory responsibility
Requirements
Active Provisional/LicensedPharmacy Technician license in the state of Colorado
Ability to obtain national pharmacy technician certification within requiredtimeframe
Basic computer skills and ability to learn pharmacy software systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Basic understanding of pharmacy terminology and medication handling
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability tomaintainprofessionalism and confidentiality
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing workflows and priorities
Ability to work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, nurses, and facility staff
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Frequent use of hands for typing, packaging, and medication handling
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
Fast-paced long-term care pharmacy setting
Environment may include automated dispensing equipment and medication packaging machinery
