    Job Description

    The Pharmacy Technician Lead supports the pharmacy team by supporting and leading on operational goals and requirements. The Lead Pharmacy Technician holds a leadership position in which they must provide guidance and instructions to other Pharmacy Technicians. These professionals are also in charge of scheduling the Pharmacy Technicians and managing the day-to-day activities of pharmacy staff such as ensuring daily and monthly tasks are complete at Mountain Park Health Center pharmacies.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Manages technician's day-to-day operations, delegates responsibility, and assures adequate resources are available to meet customer needs.
    • Keeps staff informed of new or updated standards, systems, procedures, forms and manuals through staff meetings and verbal and written communications.
    • Suggests alternative methods and procedures for solving problems.
    • Works as an extension of their manager, both addressing issues or barriers in real time and providing feedback to the manager about issues and barriers they are addressing.
    • Assists with holding team accountable for their performance.
    • Collaborates within teams to provide comprehensive training for staff, ensuring training model is patient-centered and mission-focused.
    • Processes prescriptions and enters patient information into Mountain Park Health Center's computer software systems.
    • Maintains drug inventory and monitors purchasing reports to maintain the medication budget.
    • Oversees department medication orders to completion.
    • Reports drug shortages and outages to a pharmacy management team member regarding the formulary.
    • Assists the pharmacist in dispensing, filling prescriptions, inventory control, stocking shelves, and data entry.
    • Fills and documents medications into the automated dispensing machine.
    • Assists in streamlining communication with the patient, insurance companies, pharmacist, nurses, lab, and other healthcare related parties.
    • Supports compliance with the 340B drug pricing policy and abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the State Board of Pharmacy and MPHC policies and procedures.
    • Travels to multiple locations during shift.
    • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
    • Performs Other duties as required.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Six (6) months of lead/supervisory experience. Experience can include informal leadership such as teaching or coaching.
    • Licensed as a pharmacy technician in the state of Arizona
    • Must be bilingual and able to interpret for Spanish-speaking patients.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of the 340B program
