Summary of Responsibilities:Technician will understand prescription orders and educate patients about their medications as needed. Candidate will be responding to the requests of patients and healthcare providers, answering their questions and referring various inquiries to the Pharmacist. Processing prescriptions electronically and ensuring all information is accurate and complete; generate revenues by recording, calculating and issuing charges accurately. This position also will take on administrative tasks such as record-keeping as assigned by the Pharmacist/ Manager.Details of Education and Skills: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Technician.Experience with Rx30 preferred.Excellent listening, interpersonal and customer service skills.Must be flexible, resourceful and able to troubleshoot.Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.
