Pharmacy Technician – Federal Bureau of Prisons (FTC Oklahoma City)

Position Overview
We are seeking a certified Pharmacy Technician to support healthcare operations at the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City. This position works closely with licensed pharmacists and healthcare staff to provide medication management services in a secure correctional healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable working within a federal correctional setting while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with ordering, stocking, storing, and dispensing medications.
- Prepare and distribute prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Administer medications through Direct Observation Therapy (DOT) as directed.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, narcotics counts, and medication storage areas.
- Restock crash carts, emergency bags, and automated dispensing systems.
- Update medication records and maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EMR).
- Perform pharmacy audits and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain compliance with BOP policies, infection control standards, and pharmacy procedures.
- Assist with clerical duties including scheduling, filing, scanning, and data entry.
Minimum Qualifications
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB/NPTCB) required.
- Minimum two (2) years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent pharmacy-related experience.
- Strong computer and EMR skills.
- Ability to pass federal background and security screening requirements.
