  • Pay Rate: $20.24–22.00/hour
  • Shift / Hours:
    • Monday–Friday: 5:30 AM – 10:30 AM (Eastern)
    • Alternate Saturday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Job Description
The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients as part of their routine care or life-defining health decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while following established procedures and safety standards. The Phlebotomist Floater creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing collections in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
This position provides coverage across multiple sites and roles, ensuring daily operations within Patient Service Centers, mobile settings, long-term care facilities, in-office practices, and house call environments are completed accurately and on time. The role requires the ability to manage high-volume workflows, demonstrate leadership behaviors, and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures
  • Provide coverage at multiple locations and support various phlebotomy environments
  • Act as a coach, mentor, and resource for new employees and onsite staff
  • Lead one or more Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) when required
  • Serve as the onsite point of contact and provide feedback to group leads or supervisors
  • Support high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy skills
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Laboratory Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics
  • Handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting

Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA)

Required Experience
  • 5+ years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience
