Job Summary
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the company to patients as part of their health routine or for life-defining health decisions.
This role draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for laboratory testing, and ensures patient confidence through safe, accurate, and skillful procedures. The Phlebotomist III – Float provides coverage across multiple locations and environments while maintaining process excellence and patient confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures
Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients
Provide coverage at multiple locations including Patient Service Centers, mobile, long-term care, in-office phlebotomy, and house call environments
Ensure daily activities are completed accurately and on time
Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence skills
Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy of patient information
Step in and lead one or more PSRs onsite when required
Act as coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees
Provide onboarding services to new clients
Serve as point of contact for onsite staff and provide input to supervisors
Support high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy skills
Collaborate with Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity, Billing, and Logistics
Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Keyboard and data entry experience
Nice-to-Have Experience
Medical assistant or paramedic training
Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred elsewhere)
Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment
Customer service experience in retail or service environment
