Job Location: Willimantic, CT

Duration: 3 months (possible extension)

Shift/Time Zone: 6am-6pm EST (40hr/week)

Pay Rates: $18 - $25/hr depending on years of experience

Summary:

The Phlebotomist III- Float represents the face of our company to patients who come to us, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The role involves drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. This position requires providing coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles, ensuring that daily activities are completed accurately and on time. The Phlebotomist III- Float demonstrates leadership while focusing on process excellence skills and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Responsibilities:

• Have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
• Provide coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles.
• Ensure daily activities of the Patient Service Center/Mobile/Long Term Care/In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills.
• Act as a coach, mentor, instructor, resource advisor for new employees, and provide effective onboarding services to new clients.
• Act as point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
• Work with customers who have a high complexity and/or volume practice with a specialized focus requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills.
• Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Required Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
