Job Title: Phlebotomist I - 1st Shift
Location: Wethersfield, CT
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Schedule: Monday-Friday between 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Alternate Saturdays 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Pay Range: $17/Hr. - $21/Hr. on W2

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Wethersfield, CT. The successful candidate will serve as the face of the organization for patients, providing exceptional customer service while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain patient confidence through professional and compassionate interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Collect, process, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
• Ensure specimen integrity and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures and answering questions professionally.
• Demonstrate proficiency in collecting specimens from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
• Adhere to all safety, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
• Support organizational goals by promoting a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
• Work independently while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness in daily activities.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and leadership behaviors at all times.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
• Strong specimen collection, handling, and processing skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with data entry and basic computer/keyboard skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexible to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience.
• Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or related medical training.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Experience in a patient service, retail, or healthcare environment.
• Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patient populations.
