Job Title: Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) Location: Jacksonville, FL Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension) Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM; Rotational Saturdays (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM) Job Summary The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the organization with professionalism and care. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, ensuring accurate processing, and delivering a positive patient experience. The PSR I builds trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing blood collection safely and accurately. Key Responsibilities Collect blood specimens (venipuncture and capillary) following established procedures Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing with accuracy and timeliness Provide a welcoming and professional environment for patients Explain procedures to patients and address concerns to ensure comfort and confidence Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection duties Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with policies Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality and data accuracy Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance standards Work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the community Additional Duties Perform daily activities under the direction of the area supervisor Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Demonstrate organizational commitment and leadership behaviors Support operational needs, including flexible scheduling if required Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (required) Strong data entry and keyboarding skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent patient interaction and customer service skills Ability to deliver accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of phlebotomy experience Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or similar healthcare training Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states; preferred elsewhere) Customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service industry Work Requirements Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, or on-call as needed Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures
