Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist (Patient Services Representative I) represents the face of the organization for patients visiting for routine testing or important health decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.
This position requires direct patient interaction and focuses on creating trust and confidence with patients while explaining procedures and performing blood collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
Maintain required records and documentation in accordance with laboratory procedures.
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Keyboard and data entry experience required.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Medical assistant or paramedic training.
Customer service experience in retail or service environments.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy
Specimen preparation and labeling accuracy
