    What You'll Do

    We're looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Phlebotomistwho is committed to delivering exceptional patient care through accurate specimen collection and laboratory support.

    • Collect blood and other patient specimens using a variety of collection techniques, including venipuncture and finger sticks.
    • Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and analysis.
    • Perform drug screenings and breath alcohol testing.
    • Process and prepare specimens for transport while maintaining quality and safety standards.
    • Answer multi-line phones and respond to email and fax inquiries.
    • Process department mail and complete other clerical duties as needed.
    • Participate in on-call rotation and provide carrier services when required.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and perform other duties as assigned.
    • Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned

     

    Who We're Looking For

    The ideal candidate is dependable, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys balancing hands-on patient interactions with clerical and operational responsibilities.

    • Certification as a Phlebotomist preferred.
    • American Heart Association BLS certification required within 3 months of hire and maintained throughout employment.
    • 0 to 2 years of phlebotomy experience or equivalent preferred.
    • Knowledge of phlebotomy practices, patient safety, specimen collection, and laboratory procedures.
    • Strong problem-solving, organization, and quality assurance skills.
    • Ability to work independently and remain calm in emergency situations.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, providers, and coworkers.
    • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
    • Experience with arterial blood collection and general specimen collection preferred.
    • Ability to become proficient within six months in Microsoft Office and applicable hospital systems, including Meditech, Kronos, HealthStream, Mayo, Carescripts, Allscripts, and Galactica.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
