    Description

    Pius XI Catholic High School is seeking a full-time long-term substitute Physical Education and Health teacher for the 2026-2027 school year (first semester only). Pius XI is the most diverse Catholic high school in the state of Wisconsin and is committed to providing every student with an education that prepares them for college, career, and a life of purpose.

    The ideal candidate will enjoy working with adolescents and be committed to challenging all students to achieve excellence. This individual will thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working as part of a dynamic and positive Physical Education and Health department. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for Catholic education and a willingness to integrate Catholic and Gospel values into the classroom experience.

    The qualified candidate should be able to teach Physical Education and Health courses.

    Responsibilities

    • Teach Physical Education and Health courses (3 Health courses and three PE courses)
    • Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports student learning
    • Facilitate physical activity, fitness development, and wellness education
    • Promote safe practices and uphold expectations for student participation
    • Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum and instruction
    • Support the mission and values of Pius XI Catholic High School
    • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required
    • Wisconsin DPI teaching license preferred (candidates without licensure may be considered if they demonstrate strong content knowledge and a willingness to pursue licensure)
    • Background in Physical Education, Health, or a related field preferred
    • Strong classroom management and communication skills
    • Experience working with teenage students of varying abilities preferred
