This is a Physical Therapist (PT) opportunity within an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting in Fort Pierce, FL. The hospital is a 380-bed acute-care facility, a designated Level II Trauma Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, and home to Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units; its Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited.

The role. The Physical Therapist manages the complete therapeutic care process for an assigned patient caseload in coordination with the physician and the broader care team. Core clinical work includes completing patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans focused on goal achievement and patient engagement, and providing or directing the majority of each patient's physical therapy across the continuum of care. The PT evaluates therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status, then delivers skilled treatment interventions within the full scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics. Patient and family education is a meaningful part of the role — the PT instructs patients, family members, and caregivers in the use of exercises, therapeutic appliances, and prosthetic devices intended for use outside of therapy sessions. The PT also contributes to daily operations by prioritizing caseload, determining staffing needs, and coordinating assignments and handoffs.
