    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist (PT) specializing in Adult Outpatient Rehabilitation for a 13-week travel assignment in Juneau, Alaska.

    This role is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of adult outpatient rehabilitation experience who is comfortable evaluating and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal, orthopedic, neurological, and functional mobility conditions.

    Candidates must hold an active Alaska Physical Therapist license, current BLS/CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license.

    Key Responsibilities

    ·        Evaluate adult patients with musculoskeletal, orthopedic, neurological, and mobility-related conditions.

    ·        Develop individualized treatment plans based on functional limitations, clinical findings, and patient goals.

    ·        Provide therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, balance training, and other appropriate interventions.

    ·        Assess strength, range of motion, mobility, balance, posture, coordination, and functional performance.

    ·        Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

    ·        Educate patients and families regarding home exercise programs, injury prevention, mobility strategies, and recovery expectations.

    ·        Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and on time.

    ·        Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.

    ·        Participate in interdisciplinary care planning when appropriate.

    ·        Maintain compliance with Medicare documentation and billing requirements.

    ·        Follow OSHA safety standards and facility policies.

    ·        Maintain continuing education requirements necessary for state licensure.

    ·        Support safe transitions of care and discharge planning.

    ·        Manage a daily outpatient caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care.

    Required Qualifications

    Candidates must have:

    ·        Active Alaska Physical Therapist license

    ·        Minimum 1 year of recent adult outpatient rehabilitation experience

    ·        Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification

    ·        Valid driver’s license

    ·        Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, or equivalent qualifying education meeting applicable licensure requirements

    ·        Strong clinical assessment and treatment-planning skills

    ·        Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

    ·        Strong communication and documentation skills

    Education Requirements

    Candidates must meet one of the following education pathways:

    ·        Entry-level Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

    OR

    ·        Graduation from an APTA-approved Physical Therapy program at the bachelor’s or master’s level, along with sufficient work experience and continuing education demonstrating advanced clinical competency

    Compliance Requirements

    Candidates must be able to:

    ·        Complete all required Medicare compliance training

    ·        Complete annual OSHA training

    ·        Follow applicable federal, state, and facility regulations

    ·        Maintain required continuing education for Alaska licensure

    ·        Maintain current CPR/BLS credentials throughout the assignment

    ·        Meet facility health requirements, including required influenza vaccination unless an approved exemption applies

    Preferred Experience

    Strong candidates may also have:

    ·        Orthopedic outpatient experience

    ·        Neurological rehabilitation experience

    ·        Post-surgical rehabilitation experience

    ·        Chronic pain management experience

    ·        Balance and fall-prevention experience

    ·        Gait training experience

    ·        Manual therapy skills

    ·        Previous travel therapy experience

    ·        Experience in a hospital-based outpatient rehab setting

    ·        Experience working with medically complex adult patients

    Schedule Requirements

    ·        Day Shift

    ·        Five 8-hour shifts per week

    ·        40 hours per week

    ·        Exact daily hours may vary based on patient scheduling and department needs.

    Ideal Candidate

    The ideal candidate is an experienced Adult Outpatient Physical Therapist who can independently manage evaluations, treatment planning, patient education, and follow-up care.

    You should be comfortable working with adult patients recovering from injury, surgery, neurological conditions, and other mobility-related limitations while collaborating effectively with the broader rehabilitation team.
