This is an outpatient orthopedic clinic group with a strong manual therapy focus — manual therapy is a core, significant part of how patients are treated, not just an exercise-based model. This is a floating role covering PTA vacations primarily across a few Orange County locations (with occasional coverage at additional nearby locations as needed). Vacation schedules are typically set about a month or more in advance, so you'll know which location you're covering ahead of time. On days without coverage needs, you'll be based at one of the primary locations seeing overflow patients. You'll work one-on-one with patients for the first 30 minutes of each visit, then hand off to an aide who finishes the session. Patients are typically in the clinic for about an hour total.

The clinic operates Monday through Friday, with hours running as early as 7 AM and as late as 6 PM. A typical day is 7 AM–4 PM or 8 AM–5 PM (an 8-hour workday plus a 1-hour lunch). This is a salaried role, so there's some flexibility to stay a little later if needed to finish up with patients.
Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatment to patients in an outpatient orthopedic clinic, with a strong emphasis on hands-on manual therapy techniques.
Assist patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions by implementing treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT).
Perform manual therapy interventions appropriate to the patient's condition and established plan of care.
Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, mobility activities, and functional rehabilitation programs.
Monitor patient progress, tolerance to treatment, and response to manual therapy and therapeutic exercises.
Document patient treatments, progress, and clinical observations accurately using the clinic's EMR system, including AI-assisted documentation tools.
Coordinate with physical therapists, rehabilitation aides, and other clinic staff to ensure smooth patient transitions and continuity of care.
Provide temporary coverage for PTA vacations across multiple outpatient clinic locations in Orange County, California, with occasional coverage at nearby locations as needed.
Adapt to changing weekly schedules and travel between assigned clinics based on vacation coverage requirements.
Treat overflow patients at a designated primary clinic when vacation coverage is not required.
Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and applicable California PTA licensing requirements.
Demonstrate flexibility in learning new technologies, EMR workflows, and clinic-specific treatment procedures.

Candidates must hold an active California PTA license. There's no strict minimum years of experience — what matters most is recent, ongoing manual therapy experience rather than total years in the field; stale or years-old manual therapy exposure (e.g. only from school, or from SNF/home health settings) isn't a good fit. Candidates should also be comfortable adapting to the clinic's EMR, which includes AI-assisted documentation, and generally open to learning new technology and workflows. This is a more specialized position best suited to a candidate who's comfortable driving between multiple clinic locations and adjusting week-to-week based on the vacation coverage schedule.
