Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Position: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $90,000 – $104,000 per year
Summary
As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you’ll work side-by-side with a Physical Therapist to carry out treatment plans that improve strength, mobility, and day-to-day function. This role is hands-on and people-facing—guiding patients through exercises, tracking progress, and helping them feel confident in their movement again.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment interventions under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional movement training
- Use manual techniques and modalities as directed (e.g., heat, ice, e-stim)
- Monitor patient response and report progress/concerns to the PT
- Educate patients on home exercise programs and proper form
- Document visits accurately and on time per clinic standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized treatment environment
Requirements
- PTA degree from an accredited program
- California PTA license in good standing
- CPR/BLS certification
- Basic comfort with EMR/documentation systems
- Strong patient communication and professionalism
