Physical Therapist, Clinical Specialist (Outpatient Pediatrics)
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Pay Rate: Starting at $51.00/hour
Schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday (Alternative schedule available: Monday, Thursday & Friday | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and patient-focused Physical Therapist, Clinical Specialist to support a leading healthcare organization in The Woodlands, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative outpatient developmental therapy clinic, working alongside Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists to provide exceptional care for pediatric patients from infancy through young adulthood.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and reassessments for pediatric patients in accordance with established clinical guidelines.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable short- and long-term goals in collaboration with patients and their families.
- Provide evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, functional independence, and overall quality of life.
- Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and recommend discharge when therapy goals have been achieved.
- Design, fabricate, and recommend orthotic devices and adaptive equipment to maximize patient function and independence.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, treatment goals, and therapeutic techniques.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation while meeting departmental productivity standards.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise within a pediatric outpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare professionals to promote exceptional patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered therapy environment.
Qualifications
- Doctorate or degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required.
- Current Texas Physical Therapist (PT) License required. Temporary license accepted if permanent licensure is obtained before expiration.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatrics, women's health, orthopedics, or sports medicine, OR completion of a 1-year residency in one of these specialty areas.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric development and rehabilitation from infancy through adulthood.
- Experience evaluating, developing, and implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Ability to fabricate orthotics and recommend adaptive equipment preferred.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, documentation, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary outpatient therapy team.
