    Job Description

    The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for performing an age and diagnosis specific assessment designed to gather data relevant to the patient’s/residents/client’s individual needs. This includes the evaluation and assessment of cognitive, sensory, neuromuscular, physiological, psychosocial, and functional status.  The PT develops a plan of care, initiates, performs, and manages treatment as indicated, assesses response to treatment, and assists with discharge planning.  The PT utilizes exercise, soft tissue mobilization, joint manipulation, manual therapy techniques, equipment, and physical and electrical modalities to improve strength, balance, coordination, and range of motions, and to decrease pain to restore mobility and function.  The PT provides education related to the treatment program, disease process, and prevention of further injuries to the patient/resident/client and family/caregiver and other members of the health care team. The PT delegates as necessary aspects of care to the PTA or Rehabilitation aide based on their job descriptions.

    Requirements

    • Physical Therapy Licensure, in Montana.
    • Temporary licensure as governed by the State Practice Act.
    • Current BCLS certification.

    • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
    • Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all requirements of the job.
    • All positions require the completion of a background check.  Acknowledging or having criminal convictions does not constitute an automatic bar to employment.

    Experience

    • 3-5 years experience 
    •  Master's degree
    • Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or graduate of accredited college or university with a DPT, Master’s degree, or BA degree in Physical. Therapy or certification in Physical Therapy.
    • Prior experience in Home Health preferred
