Position Summary/Department Summary: We are currently seeking a 40-hour Physical Therapist for our Lexington location (Free parking!). Be a part of our inter-disciplinary team and provide high-quality, rehabilitation for our pediatric patients. Our PTs help patients - from newborns to young adults - gain movement, strength, coordination, balance, and function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing comprehensive physical therapy assessment in alignment with department standards and guidelines for pediatric patients.
  • Reviewing patient medical history/record and selects, administers, and interprets standardized and non-standardized tests and measurements to assess patients' functional status related to cardiopulmonary, developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensorimotor function.
  • Integrating knowledge into clinical decisions and recommendations
  • Developing and implementing individualized patient treatment programs.
  • Establishing treatment goals and administers appropriate physical therapy procedures and modalities
  • Discharge plans and home treatment programs, and providing education to patients and families
  • Recommending orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment, and technology for patients with complex, rare, or multiple dysfunctions.
  • Liaison with equipment designers and vendors regarding equipment specifications and patient needs.
  • Training patients, families, and caretakers in the use/operation of prescribed orthotics/equipment, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, and initiating modifications as needed.
  • Recording assessments, diagnoses, and treatment inpatient medical records according to established documentation standards.
  • Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals, and other materials for schools, providers, payers, and others as needed.
  • Assigning standardized billing codes and corresponding charges required for reimbursement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in physical therapy
  • Experience: Minimum of one to two years of previous PT experience ideal, pediatric hospital-based experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Physical Therapist licensure in the state of MA
  • Schedule: M-F

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
