Physical Therapist
Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Employment Type: Full-Time (32 Hours/Week – Eligible for Full-Time Benefits)
Schedule: Day Shift
The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions designed to restore function, improve mobility, reduce pain, and prevent disability. The therapist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes while maintaining regulatory and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform initial and ongoing patient evaluations.
Develop individualized plans of care based on patient goals and functional status.
Deliver evidence-based physical therapy treatments.
Improve patient mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
Administer therapeutic modalities, including ultrasound, moist heat/cold therapy, infrared, ultraviolet, and other physical agents.
Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices as appropriate.
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
Establish treatment goals and perform reevaluations.
Educate patients and caregivers regarding home exercise programs and rehabilitation goals.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and hospital standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy (or higher).
Current and unrestricted New Mexico Physical Therapist License.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Acute Care or Hospital Rehabilitation experience.
Outpatient or Inpatient Rehabilitation experience.
Orthopedic rehabilitation experience.
Neurological rehabilitation experience.
Experience with prosthetic and orthotic evaluations.
Manual therapy experience.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation experience.
