Description
A health services network on Staten Island, NY has a Part-time opportunity awaiting a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 10am to 2pm
- Setting: Inpatient mental health facility
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, including functional mobility, gait and balance, fall risk, musculoskeletal, and neuromotor assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patients in a psychiatric setting
- Adapt interventions for patients with fluctuating mental status, behavioral challenges, and limited insight or engagement
- Provide therapeutic exercise, functional training, fall prevention, safety training, and pain management support
- Collaborate with psychiatry, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and recreational therapy on treatment planning, discharge planning, and care coordination
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of Physical Therapy experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
- Active NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license
- Successful completion of an approved Clinical Internship or Residency program
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in interdisciplinary team-based care
Desired Skills:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy
- Additional certifications in Neurorehabilitation, Behavioral Health, or Geriatric Care
- Bilingual
- Experience in a Psychiat
