Under the general supervision of the Rehab Therapy supervisor at the Rehab Center at Mercy Health Center, and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with Oklahama Practice Act. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Physical Therapist (Part-Time)

Mercy Health Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of adult and geriatric patients.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatment plans, and exceptional patient care while upholding Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.

What You'll Do

As a Physical Therapist, you will:

Evaluate and Develop Individualized Care Plans

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations using evidence-based assessment tools.
  • Establish measurable treatment goals in collaboration with patients and caregivers.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to adult and geriatric populations.
  • Communicate treatment expectations, goals, and progress clearly with patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care.

Provide Skilled Therapeutic Interventions

  • Administer therapeutic exercises, treatment procedures, and rehabilitation modalities.
  • Reassess patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Utilize appropriate safety practices and infection control measures.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, procedures, and precautions.
  • Ensure family members and caregivers are prepared to support successful rehabilitation outcomes.

Maintain Accurate Clinical Documentation

  • Complete evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and treatment documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Document patient progress toward established goals.
  • Record patient education activities and treatment outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely charge capture and documentation compliance.

Support Departmental Excellence

  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service education, quality improvement initiatives, and competency programs.
  • Maintain required licensure and certifications.
  • Assist with onboarding and mentoring new staff members as needed.
  • Support Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant student education opportunities.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Required Licensure

  • Current Oklahoma Physical Therapist license or eligibility for Oklahoma licensure.

Required Certification

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • All required certifications must be current before independently caring for patients.

Preferred Experience

  • Six months to one year of rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations preferred.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 185 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who wanted to help the poor women and children of Dublin. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill her dreams.
