Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Location: Glendive, MT | On-site
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hourly
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with rotating weekend on-call
PT Compensation: $41–$56 per hour.
PTA Compensation: $26-$36 per hour.

Final compensation will be determined by the position, experience, internal equity, and market analysis.

Riam Recruiting is partnering with a healthcare organization in Glendive, Montana, to hire a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant for its Rehabilitation Services team.

You’ll work with patients across a variety of diagnoses and age groups, helping them improve mobility, restore function, and regain independence. This opportunity offers collaboration with providers, therapists, and support staff in a community-focused healthcare setting. Responsibilities will align with your credentials and scope of practice.

What You’ll Do

For Both Roles

• Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, function, and independence.

• Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress to the care team.

• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic activities, safe mobility, and home exercise programs.

• Assist patients with positioning, transfers, and the safe use of therapy equipment and supportive devices.

• Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation.

• Collaborate with rehabilitation staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.

• Deliver compassionate, individualized care that supports patients’ recovery goals.

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Establish treatment goals and modify plans based on patient progress.

• Apply clinical reasoning to guide therapeutic interventions.

• Supervise and collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants.

Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities

• Deliver treatments under the direction of a Physical Therapist and within established plans of care.

• Observe and document patient responses, reporting findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Adjust specific treatment activities within the established plan and permitted scope of practice.

• Provide therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, aquatic therapy, and treatment modalities as directed.

• Measure range of motion and vital signs to support treatment monitoring.

• Assist with fitting braces and supportive devices, and monitor therapy equipment.

• This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Qualifications

Physical Therapist

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.

• Current Montana Physical Therapist license.

• Strong clinical reasoning and patient assessment skills.

• Previous experience in outpatient, inpatient, or rural healthcare settings preferred.

Physical Therapist Assistant

• Associate’s degree or qualifying certification from a physical therapy assistant program that includes anatomy, physiology, and clinical experience.

• Current Montana Physical Therapist Assistant license.

• Understanding of physical therapy procedures and medical terminology.

• Ability to carry out treatments within a Physical Therapist’s established plan of care.
