    Job Description

    Job SummaryThe Physical Therapist at The Shriners Hospital for Children is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing physical therapy interventions to restore, maintain, and promote optimal physical function and well-being in pediatric patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and developmental conditions. This role focuses on maximizing each child's independence and participation in daily activities.Key Responsibilities

    • Upon receiving a licensed independent practitioner referral, implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care

    • Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the patient and their family.

    • Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.

    • Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as mentoring and providing education to students and other professionals.

    • Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate, thorough documentation.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

    • MA PT license

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 1-year physical therapy experience - new graduates considered

    • Pediatric experience 

    Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
