Job Title: Physical Therapist

Job Description

This Physical Therapist role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions in an outpatient setting. You will deliver evidence-based, individualized care while collaborating closely with other clinical professionals to help patients achieve their best possible outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive initial evaluations of patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including exercise programs, manual therapy techniques, and functional training tailored to each patient.
  • Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Conduct ongoing reassessments and update patient goals based on progress and clinical findings.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation for all patient encounters.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants, Athletic Trainers, and support staff to coordinate high-quality patient care.
  • Supervise and direct rehabilitation support staff (Rehab Techs) during patient care activities to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery.
  • Educate patients and, when appropriate, their families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and recovery expectations.
  • Ensure continuity of care through proactive patient follow-up and clear communication with patients and the care team.
  • Participate in clinic initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes, clinic efficiency, and overall patient experience.

Essential Skills

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
  • Active Virginia Physical Therapy license in good standing, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills with the ability to develop and adapt evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Demonstrated patient care skills with a focus on orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Proficiency in manual therapy and therapeutic exercise interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to manage a full patient caseload efficiently while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and measurable outcomes.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary staff.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to balance documentation, treatment, and follow-up responsibilities.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility and transfers safely.
  • Ability to lift or support up to 50 pounds as needed during patient care.
  • Fine motor skills necessary for accurate documentation and precise treatment delivery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Willingness to consider and support new graduates with structured development and mentorship.
  • Doctorate of Physical Therapy preferred when combined with an active Virginia Physical Therapist license.
  • Interest in pursuing advanced certifications such as Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) or dry needling, supported through full certification reimbursement.

Work Environment

This is an on-site outpatient clinic position with operating hours Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Physical Therapists work one of three shifts: 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The environment is active and patient-focused, requiring frequent movement throughout the clinic and hands-on interaction during treatment sessions. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
