Physical Therapist
Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Employment Type: PRN (Per Diem)
Schedule: PRN / Day Shift
The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides evidence-based rehabilitation services to restore mobility, reduce pain, improve functional independence, and prevent disability. The therapist collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals while supervising Physical Therapist Assistants and rehabilitation support staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and ongoing assessments.
Develop individualized plans of care based on patient needs and goals.
Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions.
Improve patient mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
Educate patients on injury prevention, ergonomics, and rehabilitation programs.
Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), aides, and students.
Administer therapeutic modalities, including ultrasound, moist heat/cold therapy, infrared, and ultraviolet treatments.
Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Monitor patient progress and update treatment plans.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Current and unrestricted North Carolina Physical Therapist License.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.
Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Rehabilitation or Acute Care Hospital experience.
Orthopedic rehabilitation experience.
Experience supervising PTAs and rehabilitation aides.
Manual therapy experience.
Prosthetic and orthotic evaluation experience.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation experience.
