Position Title: Physical Therapists
Location: Staten Island, NY 10305
Duration: 2 years
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 10am-2pm
Pay rate: 60$/hr.Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:- Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assess patients' mobility, balance, strength, gait, and functional abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve physical function, safety, and independence.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, mobility training, fall prevention, pain management, and functional rehabilitation services.
- Monitor patient progress, update treatment goals, and adjust interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Ensure a safe therapeutic environment and adhere to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution and completion of an approved clinical internship or residency program.
- Current and unrestricted New York State Physical Therapist license and BLS certification.
- Minimum 2-5 years of clinical experience, preferably in psychiatric, behavioral health, or inpatient rehabilitation settings.
- Experience treating patients with severe mental illness, cognitive impairments, substance use disorders, neurological conditions, and other complex medical comorbidities.
- Strong skills in physical therapy evaluations, treatment planning, functional mobility, gait and balance assessment, fall prevention, therapeutic exercise, and pain management.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral de-escalation techniques, and the impact of psychopharmacological medications on physical function.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams and collaborating on treatment and discharge planning.
- Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and patient engagement skills, with proficiency in EHR systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced psychiatric setting while delivering patient-centered, recovery-oriented care.
