Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist and as prescribed by a physician, administers plan of treatment, and assists in discharge planning. Performs a variety of technical procedures and assists in the cleaning, maintenance, and disinfection of physical therapy equipment.
Graduate of accredited PTA program. One year’s experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant preferred. Requires a Texas license. Provides physical rehabilitative services to people under specific medical orders as part of a coordinated team. Knowledge of physical therapy equipment. Effective oral and written communication skills. Current in CPR. Some computer skills are required. Requires extended periods of standing and walking, bending, and reaching when providing patient care. Pushing and pulling up to 300 pounds and carrying up to 50 pounds. Ability to lift or move patients when needed.
