Seeking 4-5 Locum Anesthesiologists to fill weekend coverage needs
Weekend DAY shift schedule covering Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
Required to work 4 consecutive days in a row with an option to add 1 additional day shift on Tuesday or Thursday
Coverage dates needed: Late October 2026 through July 2027
Must be able to cover a minimum of 2 weekends per month - no exceptions
Practice percentage: Adult 80%, Trauma 20%
Patient age demographic is mostly adult
Approximately 60 surgical cases per day (50% general, 10% neuro, 20% complex vascular, 20% complex ortho)
Group consists of 55 Anesthesiologists and 30 CRNAs/AAs
Other anesthesiologists will be present during locum tenens coverage
Medical direction (not supervision) of CRNAs/AAs required 40% of the time, up to 3 at a time
22 operating rooms available
Level 1 Trauma Center
Locum tenens physician is not responsible for preparing anesthesia charts; difficult airway equipment is available
EPIC electronic health record system in use
Required procedures include: General Anesthesia (Adult and Trauma), Acute Pain Management, Spinal Anesthesia, Epidural Anesthesia, Minor Nerve Blocks, Central Lines, Arterial Lines, Regional Anesthesia, Obstetrical Cases, Neurosurgical Cases (Head and Spine), Complex Vascular Cases (except open heart), Complex Orthopedic Cases, Local Infiltration, Ultrasound-guided block placement, Ventilation Management, Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues, and IV Regional Anesthesia
Thoracic cases and open heart cases are NOT required
No prior first-time locums experience accepted
Board Certified in Anesthesiology required (Board Eligible not accepted)
Active Colorado license or active IMLC Letter of Qualification highly preferred
Minimum 2 years of Trauma Level I experience outside of residency required
Must be able to perform Central Lines and be comfortable with pediatric patients
Must be able to perform open vascular procedures
Clean malpractice history and background highly preferred
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), and PALS/APLS (AHA)

The anesthesiology department includes a well-established team of physicians and CRNAs/AAs, providing collaborative and comprehensive perioperative care across a wide range of surgical specialties.
