Physician - Hematology Oncology

Job Details:

• Full-time locum Hematologist Oncologist position with availability required for 2 weeks per month (Monday through Thursday)
• 
  
• 16 shifts per month with 8-hour shift lengths and clinic hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 
  
• On-call responsibilities include potentially one week and one weekend per month, phone calls only
• 
  
• Inpatient responsibilities are very infrequent; hospitalists admit all patients and physicians typically field phone calls from hospitalists
• 
  
• Job responsibilities include consults, follow-up care, and overseeing administration of antineoplastics in the clinic
• 
  
• Daily clinic patient volume of 16-20 patients with appointment lengths of 15-20 minutes for follow-ups and 60 minutes for consults
• 
  
• Average daily hospital practice census of 0-2 patients
• 
  
• Services offered include antineoplastics, phlebotomies, IV IgG, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies
• 
  
• Supported by 2 nurses per provider along with referral and triage nurses, plus ancillary staff including reception, lab, social worker, referrals, and dietician
• 
  
• 2 Advanced Practice Providers on staff; supervision of APP not expected
• 
  
• 4 exam rooms available along with medical imaging and lab/pharmacy on site
• 
  
• Patient demographics include adults 18 years and older
• 
  
• EMR system is EPIC with teaching opportunities available
• 
  
• Board Certification in Hematology & Oncology required; Fellowship Training in Hematology & Oncology required
• 
  
• Active Iowa license or active IMLC required
• 
  
• Clean malpractice and background history required
