Physician - MD / DO

Family First Health is a federally qualified community health center that understands that not every individual or community shares the same needs. That's why we provide primary medical, dental, and behavioral health care at seven convenient locations in diverse geographic regions across Lebanon, York, Adams, and Lancaster Counties to serve our patients. Family First Health also offers social service programs for those living with HIV/AIDS and first-time mothers, as well as substance use service programs. The role of the Family Medicine Physician is to provide the full scope of primary medical care to patients including diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of conditions following standard and accepted protocols and procedures. The Physician will also document patient visits and monitor and facilitate other activities related to patient care. The Physician will work alongside their support staff team to treat newborn to geriatric patients and multiple generations of the same families in an outpatient setting. In addition, the Physician will need to be committed to safe, ethical, and excellent clinical practice; and have the desire to make a difference in the community that they serve.

York, Pennsylvania, is the home of The Articles of Confederation and where the phrase "The United States of America" was first said. Seeping in history, York was the capitol of the United States for a short period . Now, the entire county finds itself full of hustle and bustle as a manufacturing capitol. York's downtown is full of local shops, restaurants and attractions. The county is also home to many breweries and wineries. It is centrally located about 30 minutes from the state's capitol, Harrisburg, about an hour from Baltimore, and under two hours from Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Doctorate in medicine or osteopathy from an accredited university and completion of an approved post-graduate training program with Board certification or eligibility.
• Current CPR and Narcan certification.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations
• Ability to communicate well and in a caring and supportive manner with individuals of all backgrounds.
• Ability to relate positively with patients and visitors and to work cooperatively with staff.
• Knowledge of computer software applications (Microsoft Office Applications, EMR, others)
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation as it relates to correspondence necessary to perform essential job functions
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately with strong attention to detail
• Ability to be organized, proactive in follow-up and follow-through, and to juggle multiple competing tasks-working in and responding to a demanding environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Mental/Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with a physician position such as:

• Prolonged periods of standing/walking
• Finger dexterity-ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
• Flexing or rotating wrists
• Exposure to disease, infection, blood, bodily fluids, and close contact with others
• Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
• Must wear common PPE/Safety Equipment (appropriate shoes, glasses, gloves, gowns, etc.)
• Lifting of supplies and equipment
• Periodic reaching, stooping, bending kneeling or crouching
• Ability to adjust focus to use close and distant vision
• Occasional sedentary work
• Requires correct vision and hearing to normal range
