Fairview is seeking a Neonatologist to join our growing team in Minnesota. In this role, you will provide high-quality, collaborative care to newborns requiring specialized neonatal services while working in a supportive team environment alongside an established group of physicians.
Practice Details:
- Openings: 0.8 FTE
- Site/Location: M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital
- Call Responsibility: Home call
- As a Pioneer Accountable Care Organization (ACO), our physicians use a multidisplinary team approach in managing clinical care.
- Full integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to newborns and premature infants
- Evaluate the physical and mental development of newborns
- Perform assessments of infants’ health, including ordering and interpreting lab and imaging tests
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans
- Advise parents on infant care and nutrition
- Attend deliveries and provide emergency care for newborns
- Collaborate with other healthcare team to ensure the best possible care for the newborn
- Maintains the electronic medical record in accordance with Fairview standards and in accordance with licensure and scope
- Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies
- Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting patient rights, communicating in a timely manner and resolving concerns or complaints regarding care and service
Required Qualifications:
- Medical Doctorate degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) or foreign equivalent from an accredited school of medicine.
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME training program in neonatology
- Sub-specialty certification from ABP in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota board of Medical Practice Licensure Currently board certification in Neonatal- Perinatal Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics or an equivalent board of the RCPSC or eligible examination for certification. Current NRP certification
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of MN
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
