Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and Board-Certified Neurologist to join our medical team. In this role, you will diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. You will manage both acute conditions and long-term chronic illnesses, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to create individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Core Responsibilities Patient Care: Perform comprehensive neurological examinations to evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult and/or pediatric patients. Diagnostics: Order and interpret diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT scans) and neurodiagnostic tests (EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies, lumbar punctures). Treatment Management: Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies for conditions like stroke, epilepsy, MS, Parkinsons, and dementia. Collaboration: Coordinate patient care with neurosurgeons, radiologists, primary care physicians, physical therapists, and social workers. On-Call Duties: Participate in the departments rotational on-call schedule for acute neurological emergencies (e.g., acute stroke response). Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with hospital policies and medical regulations. Patient Education: Counsel patients and families regarding diagnoses, prognosis, treatment benefits, risks, and lifestyle modifications. Required Skills Qualifications Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school. Training: Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency training program in Neurology. Licensure: Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of RI. Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology. Credentials: Valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances. Soft Skills: Exceptional clinical judgment, strong analytical reasoning, and compassionate bedside manner.
