    Job Description

    Summary: Treats women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods. Diagnoses and treats disease and disorders of female genital, urinary and rectal organs by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following.

    Record findings in patients medical records

    Advise and assist with referrals for back-up services.

    Cooperate in preparing claims for third-party insurance billing.

    Monitor and give guidance on specialized services including laboratory, pharmacy, etc.

    Participate in rotating duty on 24/hour answering service coverage.

    Directly supervise mid-level practitioners.

    Maintain hospital privileges for in-patient care as appropriate to individual practice.

    Participate in patient education within the health center and community.

    Assist with quality assurance program related to direct patient care.

    Elicits and records information about patient's medical history.

    Examines patient to ascertain condition, utilizing physical findings and diagnostic images, laboratory results, and patient's statements as diagnostic aids.

    Determines need for modified diet and physical activities, and recommends plan.

    Periodically examines patient, prescribing medication or surgery, if indicated.

    Delivers infant, and cares for mother for prescribed period of time following childbirth.

    Performs cesarean section or other surgical procedure as needed to preserve patient's health and deliver infant safely.

    Treats patients for diseases of generative organs.

    Cares for patient throughout pregnancy.

    Performs surgery as needed to correct malfunctions or remove diseased organ.

    Discuss problem with patient and prescribes medication and exercise or hygiene regimen.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    CPR certification.

    Active/current DEA and BNDD certificate.

    Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited college or university

    Board eligible or certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology

    Current or ability to obtain Missouri licensure to practice medicine
