WVU Medicine is investing more than $260 million in Berkeley and Jefferson counties, reflecting a bold vision for the future of healthcare in the region. These two major capital projects are designed to meet the needs of a growing population while strengthening access to high-quality, patient-centered care across the Eastern Panhandle. This is transforming care at Berkeley Medical Center with the construction of a new patient tower, expanding inpatient bed capacity from 190 to 316 and eliminating all semi-private rooms. By modernizing infrastructure, expanding clinical services, and consolidating care in efficient, convenient ways, WVU Medicine is building a foundation for long-term growth, sustainability, and enhanced patient experience.
